"PUSS IN BOOTS" - the full story
My girlfriend insists that her Fernando Berlin thigh high boots give her literal superpowers. I thought she was joking until one summer evening, when our neighbour's prize-winning Persian cat became stranded high up in a massive eucalyptus tree.
We’d been out all day. My girlfriend was wearing her Fernando Berlin Model 607 platform thigh-high boots with denim hot pants and a matching top. Yes, even in summer! When we got home, our neighbours were gathered beneath a eucalyptus tree, offering useless advice while a cat wailed from a branch five metres up.
My girlfriend marched over in her sky-high platforms. Everyone gasped. Were they worried about the cat, her ankles, or her choice of footwear on a warm evening? Who knows!
She didn’t climb the tree. She simply stood beneath it, arms crossed, radiating pure Boss energy. The cat fell silent, studied her boots, then scrambled down the trunk and jumped straight into her arms, purring.
The neighbours went wild. “Forget Puss in Boots,” one shouted. “We’ve got the real thing!”
Clearly, anyone who can hypnotize stubborn cats with a pair of Fernando Berlin thigh-highs deserves a made-to-measure pair for future animal rescue missions. The cat still visits for tummy rubs. Official comment? None. But I suspect the Model 607s have earned his eternal respect.
